Summary

A playboy prince in want of a decoy bride。
A servant girl desperate for a disguise…

Raven shifter Prince Franco is every social climbing debutante’s dream。 He’s handsome, heir to the Lunar Court throne, and deliciously single。 Every young woman wants to bed him, wed him, or steal a moment of his time。 Except, of course, for Ember Montgomery。

Half fae Ember craves freedom from her conniving stepfamily。 As if they weren’t enough to deal with, a chance encounter with the arrogant Prince Franco leaves her humiliated and in a fiery rage。 Nothing could convince her the prince is anything but a rake。 But when the opportunity to evade her scheming stepmother falls into her lap, she’ll pay the price—even if it means impersonating the prince’s newest flame…

To prove himself a worthy heir, Prince Franco must marry a princess。 But after far too many unsatisfying trysts, he’s given up on love。 With the social season in full swing, and bringing with it a horde of husband-hungry socialites, he’ll do anything to delay the pressures of both marriage and the crown。 And what better solution than an alliance with a desperate servant girl glamoured as his false future bride?

Locked in a bargain, Ember must pose as a princess until midnight at the full moon ball。 Until then, all she has to do is wear the glamour, pretend to court the prince, and above all else, not fall in love。 But when feelings emerge on both sides, she starts to wonder if there’s more to their contrived courtship than either of them planned…

Can Ember and Franco find love when the masks come off? Or will illusions and lies prove stronger than their hearts?

ACOTAR meets Bridgerton in this standalone fairytale retelling of Cinderella。 If you like slow burn romance, fake engagements, and snarky fae royals, then you’ll love this swoon-worthy story in the Entangled with Fae series。

*NOTE this book is upper YA/NA featuring mature situations and some adult language。 The romance is slow burn but leads to moderate steam。

Heart of the Raven Prince is a complete stand-alone novel set in the same world as The Fair Isle Trilogy。 Journey back to Faerwyvae or begin your adventure for the first time with this enchanting tale。 Each book in the Entangled with Fae series can be read on its own and in any order。 Happily ever after guaranteed!

I could have read this book from only Franco's perspective and I would have been perfectly happy。 Not that I didn't enjoy Ember but her journey was fraught with self doubt (Which is understandable) so sometimes I kind of felt like I had enough。 I really enjoyed the references to other characters in the series and seeing where they are。 I could have read this book from only Franco's perspective and I would have been perfectly happy。 Not that I didn't enjoy Ember but her journey was fraught with self doubt (Which is understandable) so sometimes I kind of felt like I had enough。 I really enjoyed the references to other characters in the series and seeing where they are。 。。。more

4。5⭐️Wow okay so I read these books not in the right order (wolf king, then fair isle trilogy) but even so it was great to see them weave together。 It was great to have seen Franco in the Fair Isle books and now see him get a chance at love。 (Also other characters intertwined between stories that were great and I shall not give away!)All that said, I love that these are standalone。 While they were fun to recognize bits and pieces from the other books, the other books weren’t needed。 Yippee! This 4。5⭐️Wow okay so I read these books not in the right order (wolf king, then fair isle trilogy) but even so it was great to see them weave together。 It was great to have seen Franco in the Fair Isle books and now see him get a chance at love。 (Also other characters intertwined between stories that were great and I shall not give away!)All that said, I love that these are standalone。 While they were fun to recognize bits and pieces from the other books, the other books weren’t needed。 Yippee! This story is great because it’s Cinderella and does a great job matching the story without it being frustratingly obvious what is going to happen。 It was well done。 Thanks to the author for the arc in exchange for this honest review! 。。。more

Rating: 4。5 stars This was surprisingly a good book。 The book showed a new perspective on the retelling of Cinderella and I liked that。 There were so many new elements that made the book different from the average Cinderella story。 For the time in a while, I didn't take notes because I read the book pretty fast。 This book was fast-paced and we got to see character development, especially from Franco's side。 What's even better is the fact that this book is a standalone with characters throughout Rating: 4。5 stars This was surprisingly a good book。 The book showed a new perspective on the retelling of Cinderella and I liked that。 There were so many new elements that made the book different from the average Cinderella story。 For the time in a while, I didn't take notes because I read the book pretty fast。 This book was fast-paced and we got to see character development, especially from Franco's side。 What's even better is the fact that this book is a standalone with characters throughout other books making a cameo。 I found this book through Bookstagram when Odette posted a teaser about the book, and I am glad that I found it。 I enjoyed the banter between Franco and Ember。 I appreciated the fact that the glamour deception was revealed early on, saving us the pain of reading the part where Franco would've found out the truth。 I am totally willing to give other books by the author a try。 A few comments: - When I saw the map at the beginning of the book, I got excited。 However, I think it was unnecessary as the setting of the book never left Lunar Court。 Normally I would reference the map as I read, but for this book I didn't need to do that。 - I wish the powers exhibited by the characters were developed more。 - It would've been nice if Nyxia and Ember had a moment - The truth about Em's father's death was interesting - I loved the romance。 The number of those 'scenes' was perfect。 I don't enjoy those scenes anymore, so I think that the parts that explored it was sufficient enough。 Considering how good this book was, I planned on giving it a 5-star。 However, I restricted it to a 4。5 because of the lack of impact the book had。 One of the reasons my only 5-star book this year, as of now, is The Seven Husbands of Evelyn Hugo was because of how the story impacted me。 The book was raw and truthful。 So while I enjoyed the Heart of the Raven Prince, it was just an easy read with a good plot。 However, I would recommend this book/series for those who like retellings, faes, magic, romance, and a generally well-paced book。 。。。more

Ember was one of my favorite side characters in the first book and quickly became one of my favorite characters of the standalone series! Ember is a fierce half-fae that will do anything she can to become free of her stepfamily。 Ember is one of the most likable characters I've come across。 Her snarky honesty is so refreshing and I love that she speaks her mind。 Prince Franco is your typical snobby Prince。 He has no shame and enjoys belittling others, especially humans。 Ember and her stepfamily find themselves at Court。 While there, Ember enters another bargain, but hopefully this one can help her evade her last one。 Ember must glamour herself as a Princess and court the Raven Prince。 Seems easy enough, right? Nothing could possibly go wrong。 This story is filled with drama, love and bargains! There are many side characters that breathe life into the story and help the tale to unfold。 Following Ember's story was such a thrilling adventure。 I felt every emotion that she felt and loved every second of it。 I would HIGHLY recommend this standalone to those who love fae and fairy tale retellings。 Thank you to Tessonja Odette for an advanced copy of this book。 I can't wait to read the next one! 。。。more

When I got the chance to read this story, I knew I absolutely had to。 Franco was one of my favourite characters in the Fair Isle trilogy, and I was sorry that you didn't get to know him so much better as a reader there。 This book makes up for that。Not only does Franco get his own story, you also get to meet Ember。 Franco may seem like a nonchalant playboy, but it soon becomes apparent that there is much more to him than the façade he has erected around himself。 Ember is a self-confident characte When I got the chance to read this story, I knew I absolutely had to。 Franco was one of my favourite characters in the Fair Isle trilogy, and I was sorry that you didn't get to know him so much better as a reader there。 This book makes up for that。Not only does Franco get his own story, you also get to meet Ember。 Franco may seem like a nonchalant playboy, but it soon becomes apparent that there is much more to him than the façade he has erected around himself。 Ember is a self-confident character who knows what she wants but with a vulnerable side as well。 She is passionate about music, but fears it at the same time。 They also both have a good sense of humour, which makes for great dialogue。 They are two characters I would love to meet in real life。 In books, such characters are usually my favourites as well。 The relationship between the two of them is a pleasant main line of the story, how it comes about and changes, how they both grow but still remain themselves。 As the synopsis also states, this is very clearly a Cinderella retelling, yet it does not bore you as a reader for a moment。 Many of the classic elements are present, but there is also enough variation and new stuff。 The story is built up and developed in an excellent way,the writing style is also clear and nice to read。 From the first chapter onwards, you are systematically given more information, which keeps the story truly intriguing。 In addition, there are a lot of nice plottwists and unexpected events。A small thing that annoyed me a little is how Ember, especially in the beginning, thinks "2 more weeks and then I'm free" almost all the time。 I can understand that this is very important to her, but sometimes she misses out on little things that she could be enjoying instead。Even though this story is a stand alone that you can read as it is, I really enjoyed seeing names from the Fair Isle trilogy pass by as well, to discover little snippets from their lives。 So both for people who have read the trilogy and for people who are looking for a new adventure full of fae, with fairy-tale elements and well-developed characters with whom you would immediately want to become friends (despite and maybe even because of their strengths and weaknesses), I would recommend this book。Thank you for providing me with an ARC in exchange for an honest review if I wanted to write one (not obligatory)。 My review isn’t influenced by this, my opinion is 100% my own。 。。。more

Aah, the agony and the pleasure that she just knows how to satisfy my "needs"。 Tessonja Odette is truly by TOP 5 authors!!!Every freaking book I'be read by Tessonja Odette has been my absolute favourite so far! At first it was The Isle Trilogy and I wanted to be Evie because DUH! she's awesome! But then I read Curse of the Wolf King and I wanted to be Gemma, because of what she did。。。but Now? I want to be Ember!!! The stuff she endorsed through those 3 years and how much she suffered? She is one tough and strong woman!!! Who wouldn't want to be her? This story is a Cinderella retelling, in case you didn't know。 Follows a life of Prince Franco (Raven Prince) and Ember (a servant for her stepfamily)。 Em made a bargain with her stepmother unknowingly after her father died and has to fulfil it every single day until she turns 19 years old。 She's waiting the last days to go by and she could finally be free, but something doesn't go as planned。Our Prince Franco doesn't like humans or just interaction with a bigger crowds of people/fae。 He also has a reputation that proceeds him, so every woman or mother is throwing themselves or their daughters at him。 Let's just say he dislikes it!What happens when their paths cross? Will it be as easy as Cinderella story or more intricate? I think the latter。。。I loved this story。 Each story I get to read by this amazing author, the more I fall in love with her and her writing! You know the best thing? It isn't boring! I have yet to read a book by her when I would go "Oh, I think this will take me a week to read" or "I'm not in a mood to continue reading, but have to push myself"。 Her writing is that kind that pulls you in with the first line you read and lets you out only after you are broken, satisfied and a mess! I mean that in the best way possible! 。。。more

I am a huge fan of the Fair Isle trilogy by this author so I was thrilled when I first heard that she would be releasing fairy tale retellings in the same world。 This one, Heart of the Raven Prince is a Cinderella retelling。 We get to meet Ember, who is a girl after my own heart - feisty, sassy and strong as nails when needed。 For those of us familiar with the earlier books, we get more Franco here, as this is his story - but no worries, even if you haven’t read the earlier books, this absolutel I am a huge fan of the Fair Isle trilogy by this author so I was thrilled when I first heard that she would be releasing fairy tale retellings in the same world。 This one, Heart of the Raven Prince is a Cinderella retelling。 We get to meet Ember, who is a girl after my own heart - feisty, sassy and strong as nails when needed。 For those of us familiar with the earlier books, we get more Franco here, as this is his story - but no worries, even if you haven’t read the earlier books, this absolutely can be read as a stand alone and you can meet Franco for the first time。 As for the Cinderella spin, I loved it! It stays true to the Cinderella vibe you want in a re-telling but also gives it such a fresh Fae spin that it still feels like a new story rather than a rehash of its predecessor & inspiration。 I won’t say much more so as to not give it away but if you love fairy tale retellings, definitely put this one on your list。 In terms of content ratings, there is romance and intimacy but that’s only like 2 scenes and they are done very tastefully and are not overly graphic。 Even with the touch of intimacy, I’d still say this would qualify as YA in my opinion。 I can’t wait for the next retelling set in Fairwyvae! 。。。more

She made that! 😍The novel is easy to read with a refreshing Cinderella storyline and utterly magical。 It’s not your typical retelling because it’s an ACOTAR meets Bridgerton story。 A plot-driven novel with balls, glamour, beautiful outfits, and the swoon-worthy courting from a prince in addition to bargains, allegiance, and a lot of pretending。 Definitely not love at first sight story but rather, a slow-burn, enemies to lover, fake-dating and royalty tropes。 What more can you ask for? You do not want to miss this retelling!Unlike the others who’ve read the Curse of the Wolf King or The Fair Isle Trilogy, I have little to no idea to what I’m diving into except that it’s a Cinderella retelling。 It did not disappoint and totally worth the read。 This won’t be Cinderella if there are no evil Stepmother, Stepsisters, a blue ball gown, and a magical glass shoes。𝑾𝒆’𝒗𝒆 𝒔𝒉𝒂𝒓𝒆𝒅 𝒅𝒓𝒆𝒂𝒎𝒔 𝒐𝒇 𝒇𝒍𝒚𝒊𝒏𝒈 𝒕𝒐𝒈𝒆𝒕𝒉𝒆𝒓。 𝑺𝒉𝒆 𝒂𝒔 𝒕𝒉𝒆 𝒘𝒊𝒏𝒅, 𝒎𝒆 𝒂𝒔 𝒂 𝒓𝒂𝒗𝒆𝒏。Faes and humans co-exist in Faerwyvae with a Seelie and Unseelie Faes ruling each court。 The story is set in the Lunar Court where our young protagonist, Ember and her stepfamily currently resides。 Locked in a bargain, she have to obey her stepmother until she turns nineteen。 When opportunity falls in her lap to avoid it, she grabs it, even if it means entering another bargain。Overall, I enjoyed reading the book。 It was fun meeting and getting to know the characters。 The novel switches between Ember and Franco’s POV which helps us read their perspective on their situations。 Ember is kind, honest, feisty, and a lovable character who’ve gone through a lot of hardships。 Swoon-worthy and charming Prince Franco is not the dark brooding Prince we expect。 He jokes around to hide his true emotions but I love when he showed his vulnerability to Ember。 We love a powerful couple (if you read it, you know what I meant!) I've seen her grow as a writer, so I'm hoping one day she'll write romance that will give me fuzzy feelings, and make me cheer for the relationship, more than wanting the romantic leads to have their HEA so the bad twists stop coming。Also, Ember was quite demure in Curse of the Wolf King and now she has a quick smart tongue like Gemma?Another positive thing to take notice is the humans' desperation to marry into royalty/nobility, even genuinely swooning when faced with charming fae, while still despising magic, the fae and half-fae。 Being prejudiced while still having relationships with those they stigmatise。 This paradox, this duality exists in real life, unfortunately。On the other hand, I hate that the fae are submitting too much to humans 20 years later。 The unseelie took back the island to now be subservient to humans, who tried to colonise and massacre them?? What I liked about TFI was its unapologetic pro unseelie message。If you like slow burn romance, fake engagements, and snarky fae royals, I'm sure lots of you will love this story in the Entangled with Fae series。*NOTE this book is upper YA/NA featuring mature situations & some adult language。 The romance is slow burn but leads to moderate steam。 。。。more

I really loved Heart of the Raven Prince! It’s another great story set in Faerwyvae。 This Cinderella retelling has many pieces of the original tale, but it’s definitely its own story。 I love both Ember and Franco! This is a stand-alone story and you definitely don’t need to have read the other books first, they just add more to the world。 I always love the magic and Fae in Faerwyvae and I really like the Lunar court so it was fun to get a whole story set there! And the characters are just fantastic。 I love how well Tessonja weaves the characters identities into the story - Ember loves music and playing the piano, so there are lots of musical references and I loved how she would just listen to the music of the world; the sounds of the wind and animals, etc making their own orchestra。 I love all of Tessonja Odette’s books and this is no exception! I can’t wait until the next one! I received an ARC of this book and I’m voluntarily leaving an honest review。 。。。more

For the second book in this series, Tessonja Odette brings us a new unique telling of the Cinderella story。 The elements of the evil stepfamily are of in the story, but here we have fae and fake engagements。 I really liked Ember's character and was excited to read more about her in this book。 Prince Franco gets to show his many sides and personalities within this tale。 I can't wait to see how the next book blends into this great series。 For the second book in this series, Tessonja Odette brings us a new unique telling of the Cinderella story。 The elements of the evil stepfamily are of in the story, but here we have fae and fake engagements。 I really liked Ember's character and was excited to read more about her in this book。 Prince Franco gets to show his many sides and personalities within this tale。 I can't wait to see how the next book blends into this great series。 。。。more

This was such a fun read! I love retellings and books about Fae。 When I saw this was a Cinderella retelling, mixed with a bit of The Prince and the Pauper and Fae I knew I had to read it。This was my first book by Tessonja Odette and I was drawn in from the very first sentence。 Although this book is the second in the Entangled with Fae series, it can be read as a standalone。 But after reading this one I will definitely be picking up the first book in the series and most likely reading anythin This was such a fun read! I absolutely loved Franco in Odette’s first fae trilogy, and was so excited that he’d get his own book with a HEA! This Cinderella retelling is a quick and light hearted read。 The romance is slow burn and the tension between the characters is so good! I love how the Cinderella narrative was woven into the unique Victorian fantasy fae world that Odette created (and definitely caught a sneak peek of the next fairy tale a future book might be inspired by ;) ) Definitely give this book a read if you I absolutely loved Franco in Odette’s first fae trilogy, and was so excited that he’d get his own book with a HEA! Such a great Cinderella retelling。 It puts a new spin on the original story。 I am so gland Franco got his story and happy ending。 I fell in love with him in The Fair Isle Trilogy。 He had me laughing during many parts of the book。 Ember is a strong and caring character。 Having to deal with her step family only made stronger。 Ember and Franco's story is so sweet and perfect。 I love how Ember trusted Franco and didn't get mad during certain parts because of her trust in him。 Can't wait for the next Such a great Cinderella retelling。 It puts a new spin on the original story。 I am so gland Franco got his story and happy ending。 I fell in love with him in The Fair Isle Trilogy。 He had me laughing during many parts of the book。 Ember is a strong and caring character。 Having to deal with her step family only made stronger。 Ember and Franco's story is so sweet and perfect。 I love how Ember trusted Franco and didn't get mad during certain parts because of her trust in him。 Can't wait for the next book in this series! 。。。more

As always a beautifully written story full of intrigue, suspense and amazing character detail。 Not your usually fairy-tale retelling。 This is a book and series you will not want to put down。 A must read!

AUTHORS NOTE: Heart of the Raven Prince is now released into the wild! I'm so excited for everyone to fall in love with Ember and Franco! Ember was originally introduced in Curse of the Wolf King as a side character, while Franco gathered some diehard fans in To Wear a Fae Crown (The Fair Isle Trilogy, set twenty years before the Entangled with Fae series)。 Now these two have their own love stories and I'm so thrilled with how this book turned out。 It was very hard to write at times, but the end AUTHORS NOTE: Heart of the Raven Prince is now released into the wild! I am so grateful and lucky to have such wonderful readers who make all my launches purely magical。 Happy reading!-TessonjaP。S。 Here's a peek at the hardcover edition of HOTRP。 It includes character art of Ember and Franco on the naked hardcover! (And yes, all hardcover editions will have this art under the dust jacket no matter where you get them!) 。。。more

Another solid read from Tessonja! A quick, heartwarming retelling of Cinderella that checks all the boxes。 I honestly don't think you can go wrong with any of the books linked to The Fair Isle Trilogy。 It was nice to see some familiar faces and what a wonderful ending (beginning?) for Franco。 I can't wait for the next spinoff! I have come to absolutely love Tessonja's fairy tale retellings - witty, original, and not your everyday kind of remake。 Loved this story and am looking forward to any more in this series!
